It eases my mind the Bob Ore lost the WV Senate election. After watching his governing techniques and his abuse of power as Mayor of Clendenin, it should be no surprise his political career would peak as Mayor. I feel there are a couple main reasons why Bob Ore was sailing a sinking ship, even before the polls opened. Bob Ore was rarely in the news in positive ways. He has been involved in lawsuits with the previous Clendenin Town Council who would stand up to his disregard to town ordnances and laws, which got his name in print. The local newspapers, and yes both of them, called him out on his abuse of powers. Anyone who did their research would see these stories and articles. It is no secret West Virginia votes republican. John McCain carried West Virginia’s electoral votes and republicans stand a much better chance in the mountain state. However, this did not help Ore at all as he ran as a republican on the ticket. His opponent got more then twice the amount of votes and is a West Virginia Democrat. Lastly, take a look at Ore’s campaign strategy. Maybe it will be easier to look at the lack of campaign strategy. Ore posted signs around the district about 10 days before the election while Palumbo was campaigning months before the election. I also found an insert in the Saturday newspaper 4-days before the election. This was a sad display of Bob Ore trying to win an election. Did Ore actually think a few signs and a newspaper insert would win a Senate election? Overall, residents of Clendenin are ashamed our Mayor displayed such losing tactics in this election. His overwhelming display of incompetence in this senate race is a reflection on the Clendenin residents he governs and the ones who voted him in office.
